The keyboard says it has a greenish backlight but after using it, it seemed more of a blueish colour. The lighting can get be very bright and can be dimmed to completely no light if required. The light also goes through the key caps allowing the letters to be lit up. This helps with using the keyboard in the dark or dim lit areas. There are also five different lighting modes(see video) e.g. breathing mode, gradual mode, full light mode etc.
The keyboard uses brown MX Brown switches, brown MX switches are for people who like the tactile feel without the loud clicking of keys. However in this case the keyboard still makes a bit of sound when keys are clicked(see video for sound test).
Velocifire boast of the switches lasting ten years of use and being very durable.
The keys themselves feel very durable and are made of ABS raw polymer materials, with laser engraved letters on the keycaps, therefore you don’t have to worry about the letters rubbing off after prolonged use.
Also the keyboard has N-Key rollover functionality allowing for multiple keys to be pressed at once without conflicting each others instructions.
The keyboard comes with a fixed 1.6m usb 2.0 cable which when plugged in should work straight out of the box. The cable isn't braided and is enclosed in a plastic sleeve it feels durable enough to do the job but a modular wire would have been nice.
Ergonomically the keyboard has a curved bow through the centre of its keys which i found very comfortable for the wrists after long use in gaming. The keyboard is very compact without the num-pad allowing you to free up room on your desk.
Overall I found this keyboard well worth the price tag even close to say under priced, the keyboard feels very durable. The feedback of keys with the Brown MX switches are retain that classic mechanical key feel and the blueish lighting makes the keyboard look very attractive on any desk its put on.
